This month’s Artist Magazine (December edition), features an article which resulted from the Award I received from the Magazine at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Exhibition at the Mall. The article discusses in some detail the various techniques and materials I use and is illustrated with my work.  It is available without subscription from newsagents etc.

Don’t leave your Christmas orders too late!  I don’t carry a lot of stock and sometimes need to print and/or hand colour items.  With drying time this can lead to delays. I will always notify you if I am not able to fulfil your order immediately but I don’t want to let people down as we approach Christmas.

Meantime this little print has just gone into my online shop. (No, it’s not a Reindeer….)

Chattering of Choughs ii

Finally getting to do some new work.  An explosion of Choughs and a seal so far.  This week I am mostly doing Red Breasted Mergansers…. But they are still emerging from the mire.

These two, plus another Chough iteration,  are now in my online shop

I’ve just set out my workshop dates here with a new online booking system.  I’m offering five workshops, two of them new two day workshops using my new Columbian press.  I’ve also repeated some old favourites: white line woodblock printing and batik on paper.  Hope there is something there to tempt you…. you can see the dates and book hereresized rollers

Two of my winter themed prints have just been added to Art Angels’ Winter Printmakers series of greetings cards: Red Squirrel, which is an etching (above) and my White line woodblock print of a female Reed Bunting.  Both prints are available from my online shop and the cards are on order and will follow shortly…

birdfair 2015 image

Another great weekend at the Birdfair in Rutland, painting the mural, chatting to old friends and new, enjoying some much needed summer weather and renewing our acquaintance with the Red India in Oakham (yes, five times!).

Now preparing for the Wigtown Book Festival during which I’ll be exhibiting with other Spring Fling artists at Kay Ribben’s house near Kirkcowan.

Come along and say hello at the Harbour Cottage Gallery, Kirkcudbright where I’ll be exhibiting and demonstrating every day (except Friday 14th when the exhibition will be open as normal, but I can’t be there unfortunately).  I will have approximately 40 framed pieces of work there plus my browser and cards.  August 9th to the 15th, 10:30 – 5pm

Wren Christmas card

My new RSPB Christmas cards are now available online and at RSPB shops, where there is a 15% discount at the time of writing.  This Crested Tit is sold in a twinpack with a card featuring a wren.

There is also a larger card featuring a linocut of mine of three rabbits in snow, inspired by a trip to Orkney.

Here is a link to the RSPB shop
