Description
This one day workshop will enable you to design and print a linocut specifically for hand colouring. This means that you will print a small edition from one plate, for hand colouring later. The prints above have been made that way: it’s a very versatile and simple method of introducing colour. You will use hand printing methods throughout so that you can continue to print without a press at home with minimal investment in equipment. Small class size means that you will get a great deal of personal attention. We will be printing in black, using oil based inks. Because these take a few days to dry fully you will need to hand colour your prints in your own time (using your own watercolours). Participants will be encouraged to share the results by e mail after the course! The workshop encourages you to think about the white spaces on the plate and the printed information needed to hold the image together.
Price is per person and includes a light vegetarian lunch and refreshments. All materials included. The workshop lasts from 10 am to 4:30.
Accommodation (which is not included) is available in Port William and nearby.
The maximum number of participants in this workshop is four.
I am afraid I can’t accept bookings for or on behalf of under 18s.
Do contact us before you make a booking if you have mobility issues or special dietary requirements and please note that printmaking is a physical activity that will involve working standing up and requires moderate hand strength.
Cancellation policy: If you cancel your course booking we will retain 50% of the

another course. If you cancel within a week of the course start date you
